About Balavihar
Nurturing Spiritual Seeds Early
Balavihar is ISKCON Kanpur's dedicated spiritual education initiative for children. It offers a safe, loving, and inspiring environment where learning Krishna consciousness is joyful and age-appropriate.
Along with devotional knowledge, children learn essential values like honesty, compassion, respect, responsibility, and service through interactive activities.

Programme Activities
Krishna Stories
Engaging storytelling on the pastimes of Krishna, Rama, and great devotees from Vedic literature.
Bhajans & Kirtans
Children learn devotional songs in a joyful, age-appropriate way and participate in festive performances.
Arts & Crafts
Creative spiritual activities like rangoli, deity decoration, card-making, and festival crafts.
Drama & Plays
Role-play and stage performances from Krishna-lila and Ramayana build confidence and devotion.
Games & Activities
Fun group games that reinforce values like kindness, cooperation, honesty, and respect.
Prasadam
Every session concludes with prasadam, helping children appreciate sanctified food and gratitude.
Learning Levels
Age-Based Grouping
Balaks (5–8 years)
Foundation level with simple stories, bhajans, and hands-on devotional crafts.
Madhyamas (9–12 years)
Intermediate level with deeper stories, memory verses, and value-based discussions.
Uttamas (13–15 years)
Advanced level with philosophy, leadership, seva projects, and creative expression.
